Icelandic Aurora Center is first and foremost an information web, set up and maintained by an aurora amateur in Reykjavik, Tryggvi Már Gunnarsson. The forecasts made here are based on information from two main sources: The Icelandic Met Office and NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center. By interpreting the geomagnetic activity forecast and cloud cover forecasts, I do my best to inform you about how likely that you will see the Aurora. I have been doing this for four seasons now, and am constantly working on improving my forecasts.
Aurora Borealis is a natural thing, and does not obey any law. Same goes for the weather. So Icelandic Aurora Center, nor any affiliates can be held responsible for aurora visibilty, aurora sightings or your experience of seeing the aurora.
